Advanced Studies scholarship for research students – Stage A
Multi-year advanced studies scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis, according to budgetary possibilities continuous for the first three years of studies.
The scholarship is intended to ensure continuity of support to research students who plan to devote full time to doctoral studies and who fulfill all requirements of the research project and departmental activity. The doctoral candidate is obligated not to work outside the University and/or beyond a permitted part-time position as determined by the Dean of Graduate Studies while fulfilling all other scholarship conditions.
The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of department recommendations and in accordance with the number of awards allocated to each department, subject to criteria that will be determined from time to time.
Three successive years of financing will be awarded to students who progress in their studies at the required pace and level.
Approval of the continuation of the scholarship each year, however, is not automatic but is conditioned on receiving convincing recommendations from the supervisor(s), the chair of the departmental Ph.D. committee, and the department chairperson, as well as on a progress report.
The amount of the scholarships awarded in Stage A is lower than that in Stage B.
The Graduate Studies Authority will consider awarding Scholarships only to doctoral candidates who are committed to devote full time to their research.
The deadline for submitting applications for these scholarships will be published every year.
The amount of this aid will be determined in advance every year according to budgetary possibilities.
The criteria for submitting applications for this scholarship and the selection procedure appear in the complete Scholarship Regulations.
